Hello Gretsch enthusiasts… and welcome to my site! My name is Ed Ball and I am a self-proclaimed “Gretsch Guy”! Over the past decade I have dedicated a lot of time to passionately researching and promoting the amazing instruments that the original Brooklyn-based Gretsch Company produced. I have published material that offers both education and celebration of these guitars. In my travels I’ve encountered many other Gretsch fans who desire to understand more about the guitars that they love. The February, 2014 issue of Vintage Guitar magazine has my article on some amazing prototypical Country Gentleman specimens. This article features two known examples, but served to flush out yet another from a reader… and it turns out to be the earliest of the bunch!
